A little edited version of my story
My legal name has been Myra Gardner since 2024, but my film name will always be Myra Boutros.
I consider myself a story teller, and editing is my happy place.
Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. I grew up speaking three languages (Arabic, French and English).
I earned a Master’s degree in Filmmaking and TV production with honors from
the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts. After building a successful career as an editor in Beirut,
my ambitions led me to the United States where I shifted my focus to Documentaries.
Since moving to Boston I worked as an Assistant Editor and Associate Editor on TV documentaries
like PBS Nova, PBS American Experience, Discovery's “Architects of Ancient Arabia" and others.
I also worked as an Additional Editor and Editor on several independent, award-winning feature documentaries, including "Nasser's Republic: The Making Of Modern Egypt","Weed and Wine",
"Growing through Covid-19","The Philadelphia Eleven", and "Taha's Theorem".
I am a member of the ADE (Alliance of Documentary Editors), and the Bipoc Doc Editors.

I am currently settled in the DC area, and I am always looking for a new story to tell.
films
I have had the honor to tell several stories throughout the years in different capacities. Whether I spend a few weeks on a film or a couple of years, I become attached to the characters and they become very dear to my heart. This selection only showcases the documentaries from the U.S. but if you ask me for other formats, I will gladly share other characters' stories.

As a documentary editor, I believe that the best way to showcase the work is by watching the full film.
You get a better idea of the editor's storytelling sense, emotional engagement with the audience,
and how they stay true to the characters and their story.
In Beirut, I've had the chance to work on other different formats that are highlighted in this video.
